GEC M-PACT

The GEC M-PACT switch range was designed and built in the UK by GEC Switchgear and was sold and installed between the late 1970`s and the early 1990`s.

The GEC M-PACT was sold in fixed and withdrawable 3Pole and 4 Pole versions.

GEC M-PACT was formatted in 3 frame sizes.

Frame Size 1: 800-2500amps
Frame Size 2: 2000-3150amps
Frame Size 3: 3500-4000amps

The GEC M-PACT was included in GEC System 4 LV panels and also sold to independent Panel Builders throughout the UK.

Early GEC M-PACT models featured Dash pot current protection, later models featured the CTZ Solid State earth fault and overcurrent protection relay.

The GEC M-PACT ACB and its components are now obsolete and no original manufacturers support exists.

GE M-Pact

GE M-PACT

Designed and marketed by GE the GE M-PACT was the replacement for the GEC M-PACT ACB.

The GE M-PACT was sold in fixed and withdrawable 3Pole and 4 Pole versions.

It was also marketed as the GEC ALSTHOM M-PACT ACB.

The GE M-PACT range incorporated the MPRO 17,20,30 and 40 trip unit

GE M-PACT was formatted in 2 frame sizes.

GE M-PACT Frame Size 1: 800-2500amps
GE M-PACT Frame Size 2: 2000-4000amps

A later model GE M-PACT Plus was introduced which incorporated enhanced protection relay options (MPRO 18, 27, 50) .

The GE M-PACT and GE M-PACT Plus are now obsolete and no original manufacturers support exists. Failure of the MPRO trip unit is increasingly common, once faulty it cannot be replaced as no original manufacturer support exists, leaving installations without any circuit protection.
